Editing Modes
Two Ways to Edit
Buzz Mode offers two editing modes to give you the right level of control for your needs. Switch between modes using the toggle in the Editor Panel header.
Recommended
Focused Mode
Edit only the designated template fields. The template structure stays locked, ensuring consistent results and preventing accidental changes to the layout. Best for quick asset creation and bulk generation.
Advanced
Freeform Mode
Full access to all template elements on the canvas. Select, move, resize, and modify any element. Best for customizing templates beyond their default fields or creating unique variations.

When to Use Focused Mode
- Brand consistency - Keep templates locked to maintain brand guidelines
- Bulk generation - Generate many variations with consistent layout
- Quick edits - Make fast changes without worrying about layout
- Team collaboration - Ensure everyone produces consistent assets
When to Use Freeform Mode
- Custom layouts - Adjust element positions for specific content
- Template tweaks - Fine-tune a template for your brand
- One-off designs - Create unique variations that differ from the base
- Adding elements - Insert logos, icons, or additional text
Switching Modes
- Look for the mode toggle in the Editor Panel header
- Click to switch between Focused and Freeform
- Your current edits are preserved when switching
- The preview updates to show selection handles in Freeform mode
Mode Indicator
The current mode is shown in the Editor Panel header:
- Green indicator - Focused mode active
- Orange indicator - Freeform mode active
Freeform Mode Tips
- Hold Shift while resizing to maintain aspect ratio
- Use arrow keys for precise positioning
- Double-click text to edit directly on canvas
- Cmd/Ctrl+Z to undo, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo
- Use "Reset Layout" to return to the original template structure
Saving Custom Templates
After customizing a template in Freeform mode, you can save your changes as a new template:
- Make your customizations in Freeform mode
- Click "Save as Template" in the template menu
- Name your custom template
- Find it in the "Custom" category of the Template Browser
