Text is essential in every design. Azyrom provides powerful typography controls for creating beautiful, readable text in your designs.
Creating Text
Click to Create
Activate the Text tool
Press T or click the text icon in the toolbar.
Click on the canvas
Click where you want the text to start. A text cursor appears.
Start typing
Type your text. The text box expands horizontally as you type.
Finish editing
Press Escape or click outside the text to finish editing.
Drag to Create Text Box
Click and drag to create a text box with a fixed width. Text will wrap within this box.
Double-click any text element to enter edit mode and change the content. Or select it and start typing to replace all the text.
Text Properties
Font Family
Choose from system fonts or imported fonts. The font dropdown shows a preview of each font.
Font Weight
Select from available weights: Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Semi Bold, Bold, Extra Bold, Black. Not all fonts have all weights.
Font Size
Set the text size in pixels. Common sizes:
- 12-14px - Body text, captions
- 16-18px - Standard body text
- 20-24px - Subheadings
- 28-36px - Headings
- 48px+ - Display text, titles
Line Height
Control the spacing between lines. Can be set as:
- Auto - Automatically calculated based on font
- Percentage - Relative to font size (e.g., 150%)
- Pixels - Fixed line height
Letter Spacing
Adjust the space between characters. Positive values spread letters apart, negative values bring them closer.
Text Alignment
Horizontal Alignment
- Left - Text aligns to the left edge
- Center - Text is centered
- Right - Text aligns to the right edge
- Justify - Text spreads to fill the full width
Vertical Alignment
For text boxes with fixed height:
- Top - Text starts at the top
- Middle - Text is vertically centered
- Bottom - Text aligns to the bottom

Text Color
Text uses the fill color. Click the fill swatch in the Properties Panel to change the text color. You can also apply:
- Solid colors - Single color
- Gradients - Linear or radial gradients across the text
Text Resize Behavior
Auto Width
Text box grows horizontally to fit content. Good for labels and single-line text.
Auto Height
Text box has fixed width but grows vertically. Good for paragraphs.
Fixed Size
Text box has fixed width and height. Text may overflow if it doesn't fit.
Toggle between modes by dragging the text box handles or using the resize dropdown in the Properties Panel.
Double-click the right edge handle of a text box to switch to Auto Width. Double-click the bottom edge to switch to Auto Height.
Mixed Styles
Apply different styles to different parts of the same text:
- Double-click to enter edit mode
- Select the text you want to style
- Apply font, size, color, or style changes
- The selection gets the new style while other text stays unchanged

Converting Text to Vector Paths
Convert text to vector paths for advanced editing, custom typography, or to ensure fonts render correctly.
Outline Mode (Per-Letter Paths)
Each letter becomes a separate vector path, allowing independent editing:
- Select the text element
- Press
Cmd+Option+O(Mac) orCtrl+Alt+O(Windows) - Each letter becomes a separate editable vector shape in a group
Flatten Mode (Single Path)
All letters combine into a single vector path:
- Select the text element
- Press
Option+Shift+F(Mac) orAlt+Shift+F(Windows) - All text becomes a single unified vector path
Tip: Use Outline mode when you need to edit individual letters. Use Flatten mode when creating logos or wordmarks that will be treated as a single shape.
Warning: This is a one-way conversion. You can no longer edit the text content after
converting. Use Undo (Cmd/Ctrl+Z) to revert.
