Text on Path

Text on Path allows you to flow text along any vector shape - circles, curves, waves, or custom paths. Create circular logos, wavy headlines, and decorative typography effects.

Creating Text on Path

1. Draw or select a path (line, curve, circle, etc.)
2. Select the Text on Path tool from Draw Mode toolbar
3. Click on the path where text should start
4. Type your text
5. Text flows along the path

Alternative Method

1. Create a text element
2. Create or select a path
3. Select both text and path
4. Right-click and choose "Attach Text to Path"

Path Text Properties

Start Position

• Drag the start marker along the path
• Or enter percentage in Properties panel
• 0% = path start, 100% = path end

Alignment

• Left - Text starts from position marker
• Center - Text centered at position
• Right - Text ends at position

Offset

• Vertical Offset - Distance above/below path
• Positive values move text above
• Negative values move text below

Flip

• Flip text to inside/outside of curves
• Useful for circular text
• Toggle in Properties panel

Working with Circular Text

Top of Circle

1. Draw a circle
2. Apply text to path
3. Position at 50% (top center)
4. Align center

Bottom of Circle

1. Apply text to circle
2. Enable Flip
3. Position at 50% (now bottom)
4. Adjust vertical offset

Full Circle Text

• Use tracking to space letters evenly
• Adjust font size to fit circumference
• Use path start percentage to rotate

Editing Path Text

Edit Text Content

• Double-click to enter text edit mode
• Edit text normally
• Click outside to exit

Edit the Path

• Select the text-on-path object
• Double-click to edit the underlying path
• Modify path shape
• Text reflows automatically

Change Text Style

• All typography options work
• Font, size, weight, tracking, etc.
• Apply text styles

Detaching Text

• Select the text-on-path object
• Right-click and choose "Detach from Path"
• Text becomes outlined shapes
• Path remains separate

Tips

• Use simple paths for readable text
