Quick answers to common questions about Azyrom
General
Azyrom is a powerful design tool for creating user interfaces, illustrations, and websites. It features three modes:
- Design Mode - Create UI layouts with shapes, text, images, and frames
- Draw Mode - Illustrate with brushes, effects, and variable-width strokes
- Sites Mode - Publish designs as live websites with responsive breakpoints
Azyrom is available for:
- macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel)
- Windows 10 and later
- Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, and other major distributions)
Azyrom is open source and free to use. Check the project repository for licensing details.
Files & Formats
Azyrom saves files in the .azr format. This is a JSON-based format that
stores all your design data including elements, styles, and settings.
Yes! Azyrom supports exporting to:
- PNG - Raster images with transparency
- JPG - Compressed images for web
- SVG - Vector graphics for scalable output
Go to File → Export or use Cmd/Ctrl + E.
Direct import of Figma or Sketch files is not currently supported. However, you can:
- Export designs as SVG from Figma/Sketch and import them
- Copy/paste simple elements via the system clipboard
Features
To change the canvas background color:
- Deselect all elements (press
Escor click empty canvas) - Open the Properties Panel on the right sidebar
- Find the "Canvas" section at the top
- Click the color box to open the full color picker
- Choose your color using the HSV picker, hue slider, or hex input
Your canvas background color preference is saved automatically and persists across sessions. The default is light grey (#F5F5F5).
Azyrom supports all fonts installed on your system. Select a text element and choose your desired font from the Properties Panel.
Select a rectangle, then find the "Corner Radius" section in the Properties Panel. You can set a uniform radius for all corners or click the independent corners icon to set each corner separately.
Yes, Azyrom automatically saves your work periodically. However, we recommend manually
saving (Cmd/Ctrl + S) before closing the application, especially after major
changes.
Troubleshooting
Try these steps to improve performance:
- Reduce the number of effects (shadows, blurs) on elements
- Flatten complex groups that don't need to be edited
- Close other memory-intensive applications
- Reduce image resolution for very large images
This could happen for several reasons:
- The element may be locked - Check the Layers Panel for a lock icon
- Another element may be on top - Try Cmd/Ctrl + Click to select behind
- The element may be inside a group or frame - Double-click to enter the group
You can always select elements directly from the Layers Panel.
Keyboard shortcuts require the canvas to have focus. Click on the canvas area first, then try the shortcut again. Also ensure you're not in text editing mode (blue text cursor visible).
