The Arc tool creates circular arc segments, pie slices, and donut (ring) shapes. Perfect for progress indicators, charts, and decorative elements.
Drawing Arcs
- Select the Arc tool from the toolbar
- Click and drag to set the size
- Hold
Shiftfor a perfect circular arc - Adjust start and end angles in Properties
Arc Properties
- Start Angle - Where the arc begins (0-360 degrees)
- End Angle - Where the arc ends (0-360 degrees)
- Inner Radius - Create donut/ring shapes (0 = solid, higher = ring)
- Sweep Direction - Clockwise or counter-clockwise
Arc Types
- Arc - Open arc (stroke only, no fill)
- Pie Slice - Closed arc with lines to center (can be filled)
- Donut Segment - Ring segment with inner and outer radius
Common Uses
- Progress Indicators - Circular progress bars
- Pie Charts - Data visualization segments
- Donut Charts - Ring-style data charts
- Gauges - Speedometer-style indicators
- Decorative Elements - Curved design accents
Creating a Progress Ring
- Draw a donut arc with inner radius at 80%
- Set start angle to 0 and end angle to the progress percentage (e.g., 270 for 75%)
- Add a background ring (full 360 degrees) in a lighter color behind it
- Style with rounded stroke caps for a modern look
Tips
- Use 0 inner radius for pie slices, higher values for donut shapes
- Combine multiple arcs for complex charts
- Apply stroke caps (round/square) for different end styles
- Arc angles use standard degrees: 0 = right, 90 = bottom, 180 = left, 270 = top
