The Arrow tool creates straight arrows with arrowheads at either or both ends. Perfect for diagrams, flowcharts, annotations, and directional indicators.
Activating the Arrow Tool
- Press
Aon your keyboard - Click the Arrow tool icon in the toolbar
Drawing Arrows
- Click and drag to draw an arrow line
- The arrow is drawn from the start point to the end point
- By default, an arrowhead appears at the end of the line
- Hold
Shiftto constrain to 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, or 180° angles
Arrow Properties
After drawing an arrow, you can customize it in the Properties Panel:
- Start Arrow - Toggle arrowhead at the start point (off by default)
- End Arrow - Toggle arrowhead at the end point (on by default)
- Stroke - Adjust arrow line thickness, color, and style
- Stroke Cap - Change line end style (round, square, butt)
- Line Angle - View and adjust the exact angle of the arrow
Arrowhead Styles
You can configure arrowheads independently for start and end:
- No Arrow - Turn off the switch to remove the arrowhead
- Single Arrow - Enable only one end (start or end)
- Double Arrow - Enable both start and end arrowheads

Creating a Flowchart
- Draw rectangles or other shapes for process steps
- Press
Ato activate the Arrow tool - Draw arrows connecting the shapes
- Hold
Shiftwhile drawing to keep arrows straight (horizontal/vertical) - Adjust stroke width and color in Properties Panel for emphasis
Tips
- Use
Shiftwhile drawing to create perfectly horizontal, vertical, or 45° arrows - Turn off both arrowheads to create a simple line (or use the Line tool instead)
- Adjust stroke width to match the visual weight of connected elements
- Use different stroke colors to show different types of relationships
- Group arrows with shapes to keep flowcharts organized
Difference from Line Tool
- Arrow Tool - Creates lines with arrowheads enabled by default (end arrow on)
- Line Tool - Creates plain lines with no arrowheads; add arrowheads in Properties Panel if needed
