The Eyedropper tool samples colors from any element on the canvas and applies them to your selection. It's the fastest way to copy colors and maintain consistency across your design.
Basic Usage
Select an element
Select the shape, text, or element you want to change the color of.
Activate the Eyedropper
Press J to activate the Eyedropper tool.
Click to sample
Click on any element to sample its color. The color is immediately applied to your selection.
What Gets Sampled
The Eyedropper samples different properties based on what you click:

From Color Picker
Access the Eyedropper from within the color picker:
- Open the color picker (click any color swatch)
- Click the eyedropper icon in the picker
- Click anywhere on the canvas to sample
Sampling from Images
When sampling from images:
- The exact pixel color under your cursor is sampled
- Works on imported images and image fills
- Useful for extracting colors from photos and reference images
Import a reference image or color palette, then use the Eyedropper to quickly apply those colors throughout your design. Delete the reference when done.
Copy All Styles
Use Alt/Option + Click to copy all visual properties at once:
- Fill color and type
- Stroke color, width, and style
- Effects (shadows, blur)
- Opacity
This is a quick way to make elements match exactly.
