Create Your First Design

Welcome to Azyrom! In this tutorial, you'll create a simple button design from scratch. By the end, you'll understand the basic workflow of creating shapes, adding text, styling elements, and saving your work.

What You'll Create

We'll create a simple call-to-action button with a rounded rectangle background, text label, and a subtle shadow effect.

Step-by-Step Tutorial

1

Launch Azyrom

Open the application. You'll see an empty canvas with a grid background. The canvas is your workspace where you'll create designs.

2

Draw a Rectangle

Press R on your keyboard to select the Rectangle tool (or click it in the left toolbar). Click and drag on the canvas to draw a rectangle approximately 200px wide and 50px tall. Don't worry about exact dimensions - you can adjust them later.

Tip

Hold Shift while dragging to constrain the rectangle to a perfect square.

3

Adjust Size in Properties Panel

With the rectangle selected, look at the Properties Panel on the right side. Find the Width (W) and Height (H) fields. Set them to exactly 200 and 50 pixels.

4

Add Rounded Corners

In the Properties Panel, find the "Corner Radius" field. Set it to 8 pixels. Your rectangle now has smooth, rounded corners - perfect for a button!

5

Change the Fill Color

Click on the fill color swatch in the Properties Panel. The color picker opens. Enter #7c3aed (a purple color) in the hex field, or pick any color you like.

6

Add Text

Press T to select the Text tool. Click in the center of your rectangle. Type "Get Started" in the text dialog that appears, then click OK.

7

Style the Text

With the text selected, use the Properties Panel to:

  • Change the font size to 16 pixels
  • Set the color to white (#ffffff)
  • Change the font weight to Bold
8

Center the Text

Position the text in the center of the button. You can drag it manually or use the X and Y fields in the Properties Panel for precise positioning.

Tip

Use the arrow keys to nudge selected elements by 1 pixel. Hold Shift to nudge by 10 pixels. You can customize these nudge values in Preferences (press CtrlK and search for "nudge").

9

Save Your Work

Press S (Mac) or CtrlS (Windows) to save. Choose a location and name your file. Azyrom uses the .azr file format.

Congratulations!

You've created your first design in Azyrom! You now know how to create shapes, add text, style elements, and save your work.

Key Shortcuts You Learned

Try These Challenges

Practice what you learned with these mini-challenges:

  1. Create a secondary button - Make another button with a white fill and purple border (stroke)
  2. Add a shadow - Select your button rectangle and add a drop shadow effect in the Properties Panel
  3. Create an icon button - Make a circular button using the Circle tool (C)
