Azyrom's interface is designed to be intuitive yet powerful. This guide walks you through every part of the application so you can work efficiently from day one.
Main Interface Areas
1 Toolbar (Top)
The toolbar provides quick access to essential actions and information:
- Application Title - "Azyrom" branding
- Element Count - Shows how many elements are on the canvas (e.g., "12 elements")
- Zoom Controls - Zoom in (+), zoom out (-), current zoom level, fit to screen
- Undo/Redo - Step backward and forward through your edit history
- File Actions - Open, Save, and Export buttons
- Help Button - Access keyboard shortcuts reference
2 Left Sidebar
The left sidebar contains tools and mode switching options:
- Mode Buttons - Switch between Design, Draw, and Sites modes
- Tool Panel - All drawing and editing tools
- Quick Actions - Common operations for the current mode
3 Canvas (Center)
The canvas is your main workspace:
- Grid Background - 20px grid for alignment (can be toggled)
- White Canvas Area - 800×600px default canvas size
- Gray Pasteboard - Extended workspace area outside the canvas
- Floating Toolbar - Quick tool access that hovers over the canvas
4 Properties Panel (Right)
Context-sensitive panel that shows properties for the selected element:
- Transform - Position (X, Y), Size (W, H), Rotation
- Fill & Stroke - Colors, gradients, stroke width and style
- Effects - Shadows, blur, corner radius
- Element-Specific - Text options, image settings, arc properties, etc.
5 Layers Panel (Right Tab)
Manage and organize all elements in your design:
- Layer List - All elements sorted by z-order
- Thumbnails - Visual preview of each layer
- Search & Filter - Find layers by name or type
- Visibility/Lock - Toggle element visibility and editing
6 Status Bar (Bottom)
Shows contextual information about your current state:
- Selection Info - Number of selected elements
- Tool Tips - Helpful hints for the active tool
- Shortcuts - Relevant keyboard shortcuts for current context
Application Modes
Azyrom has three main modes, each optimized for different types of work:
Design Mode
UI layouts, shapes, text, and standard design work
Draw Mode
Illustrations, brushes, effects, and freehand drawing
Sites Mode
Web design, CMS, responsive layouts, and publishing
Switch between modes using the buttons in the left sidebar. Each mode shows different tools and panels optimized for that workflow.
Tool Panel
The Tool Panel in the left sidebar provides quick access to all drawing tools. Here are the essential tools you'll use most:
Selection & Navigation
VSelect - Click to select elements, drag for marquee selectionHHand - Pan the canvas (also hold Space temporarily)
Shape Tools
RRectangle - Draw rectangles and squaresCCircle - Draw circles and ellipsesLLine - Draw straight lines with optional arrows
Content Tools
TText - Add text elementsIImage - Import imagesFFrame - Create frames for screens and containers
Path Tools
PPen - Draw bezier curves with precisionNPencil - Freehand drawing with smoothing
Press Escape from any tool to return to the Select tool. You can also press
V at any time.
Properties Panel Deep Dive
The Properties Panel on the right changes based on what you have selected. Here's what you'll see for common element types:
For Shapes (Rectangle, Circle)
- Position & Size - X, Y, Width, Height, Rotation
- Fill - Color picker with solid colors and gradients
- Stroke - Border color, width, style (solid, dashed)
- Corner Radius - Rounded corners (rectangles only)
- Effects - Drop shadow, inner shadow, blur
For Text
- Content - Edit the text content directly
- Font - Family, size, weight, style
- Paragraph - Alignment, line height, letter spacing
- Color - Text fill color
For Images
- Source - Replace or edit the image
- Fit Mode - Fill, fit, or crop the image
- GIF Frames - For animated GIFs, select display frame
Layers Panel
The Layers Panel helps you manage complex designs with many elements:
- Click a layer to select it on the canvas
- Double-click a layer name to rename it
- Drag layers up/down to change stacking order
- Eye icon - Toggle visibility
- Lock icon - Prevent accidental edits
- Search bar - Filter layers by name
- Type chips - Filter by element type (Rectangle, Text, etc.)
Thumbnails in the Layers Panel show a preview of each element. This makes it easy to identify layers visually without needing to select them.
